FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Wisconsin man who police say drove into a dozen Muskegon Motorcycle Gxxg riders June 1 in Fond du Lac County, Wis., killing one and injuring eight others, has been arrested.
Clinton Lovelace, 25, is being held in Fond du Lac County Jail following his release Sunday from Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, Wis., Sgt. Cassandra Gigstead of the Fond du Lac County Jail confirmed Monday.
Lovelace is yet to make his initial court appearance. Gigstead said the appearance will likely be Tuesday morning.
Lovelace was taken into custody for homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle following a crash in which he allegedly crossed the centerline of U.S. 151 and struck a group of MMG motorcyclists, killing Twin Lake resident Dan Winsemius, 59, and leaving eight others injured.
Fox 11 out of Green Bay, Wis., also reported that Fond du Lac County District Attorney Dan Kaminsky said the driver had two unopened syringes in his pants pocket when he was removed from his car.
Lovelace potentially faces further charges for the accident.
Families of the injured motorcyclists have requested Theda Clark Medical Center not issue further updates.
Lovelace has been convicted for burglary, bail jumping, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substances in cases dating back to 2006, according to the Wisconsin Court System. He also was cited multiple times for driving with a suspended license.
