New Hampshire, Motorcyclist, passenger injured in crash

OFF THE WIRE
HOOKSETT, N.H. - A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured when an article of clothing became lodged in the bike, causing it to crash on Interstate 93 in Hooksett on Saturday.
Police said William Barnard, 42, and a 50-year-old Hooksett woman were riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on I-93 about 10:40 a.m. when a piece of clothing became lodged in the drive belt, causing the rear wheel to lock up, police said. Both riders were ejected from the bike.
Barnard, of Gilford, was taken to Elliot Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. His passenger was taken to Elliot Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, police said.
Speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash, police said. Neither rider was wearing a helmet, according to a police news release.
I-93 South was temporarily limited to one lane while authorities investigated the incident.
