Hello "Screwdriver"
My name is Pete Maroosis. I am the Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 1956 in Sun City/Menifee, CA. We are going to participate
in the June 30th 4th of July Parade that the City Of Menifee is putting on. We are going to have a Tractor pulling a Hay Wagon that will be adorned with flags and signs honoring our Military. We will have up to 20 people in the Hay Wagon all waving the American Flag.
Thankfully the Mayor Pro Tem Tom Fuhrman will be supplying that and he will drive the Tractor. We are a rejuvenated group of Veterans
as most of our Veterans are from the WW 2 and Korean Era with a few of us like myself who are Vietnam Veterans and some from the Gulf War and Afghanistan/Iraq as well. We have recently adopted a Unit from Coronado, CA. It is Seal Team 17 and our liaison CW02 Mike Blackwell who is also a VFW Member of our Post will be participating along with us and possibly some others from the Seal Team Unit.
WE WANT OUR POST TO BE RECOGNIZED HERE because there are many whom we encounter are not aware of our existence. We feel that
this would be an excellent opportunity for us to come out and be recognized. We are here to support our Veterans and that is our Primary Goal. We have so much more work to do though and we are in the process of looking for a Building to be able to operate out of 24-7. We are limited at the present because we function out of a Meeting Room at the Provident Bank In Menifee, CA. which is only once a month.
Can you help us by participating in our Part of the Parade with members of your Veterans Motorcycle Club? It would help us out a lot if you can do that for us.
