With more than 100 police officers patrolling the streets of Boulder City in anticipation of the Mongols Motorcycle Club’s gathering this weekend, chances were great for some sort of incident.
It occurred Friday afternoon. Police stopped none other than the Mongols' frontman, Stephen Stubbs, for — wait for it — jaywalking.
Stubbs, an attorney and longtime resident of Boulder City, said he would challenge it.
He was nabbed after crossing a street outside of the Boulder Inn and Suites, where the Mongols are staying.
“A truck was making a left-hand turn, so it had blocked any traffic coming,” Stubbs said, explaining that he scurried quickly across the street during the truck’s turn.
Boulder City Police could not be reached for comment.
Earlier this week at a town hall meeting to air concerns about the motorcycle club’s gathering, Boulder Police Chief Thomas Finn said there would be an influx of law enforcement officers over the weekend and heightened law enforcement.
