Question of the day: Should the motorcycle helmet law have been repealed?

It's been just about two months since Michigan repealed its motorcycle helmet law, and the issue remains hotly debated even now. Recently in the area, an Auburn man, Michael Allen, was badly injured in a motorcycle crash, while not wearing a helmet. His brother told The Times that he wished the state still had a motorcycle law.
This week, police credited a helmet with saving a 39-year-old Mount Pleasant from extensive injuries after he hit a whitetail deer on his motorcycle.
And an Mlive analysis found that helmetless motorcyclists continue to suffer more serious injuries and are killed at greater rates than those with helmets.
