Daytona Beach, FL - Outlaws to cops: We're staying

The American Outlaws Association has a message for Daytona Beach police: "You're not getting rid of us."
A member of the motorcycle gang said Friday the club is looking for a new home in the city, even though he said police harassed them repeatedly at their old digs on Tanglewood Street.
"We're gonna stay in Daytona," said the biker who goes by Hillbilly One-Percenter. "We're looking for another place."
Last Friday, Daytona Beach Deputy Chief Steve Beres noticed a new fence and the Outlaws' signature black and white chairs outside a warehouse in the 100 block of South Segrave Street. Beres said the warehouse is zoned for storage and he asked Hillbilly and Outlaws member Broda One-Percenter what their plans were for the building.
Beres said the men told him they had rented the warehouse for a party and barbecue for Bike Week.
But the celebration never happened. Beres told the bikers to move on because such an event would violate city ordinances.
On top of that, the house club members frequented on Tanglewood that's owned by an Outlaws member was slapped with a myriad of code enforcement liens totaling roughly $20,000, Hillbilly said.
Police Chief Mike Chitwood said the house was used as a clubhouse and that alone is a code violation. But Hillbilly said the house was occupied by an Outlaws "brother."
"We just went there to visit him because we're all family," he said. "It was not a clubhouse."
Hillbilly complained that for the past two years during Bike Week, Daytona Beach police have parked their mobile command center close to the Tanglewood house and harassed the members.
"Many of our brothers have served this country," he said. "Is that how you treat people who served this country?"
He also said the motorcycle club plans to contest the liens placed on the Tanglewood property: "We're fighting everything."
Deputy Chief Beres simply chuckled.
"We're gonna keep on top of them," he said. "If they're not leaving Daytona, we're not going anywhere either."
