OFF THE WIRE
A tattooed biker is on trial for the murder of an off-duty police woman and her boyfriend last December after the single mom allegedly grabbed his bottom in a Wisconsin bar during a night of partying with friends.
Andrew Wirth, who has a neck tattoo that reads 'Nothing to Lose,' did not appreciate the pinching from Jennifer Luick.
After Wirth glared at the blonde, she went and told her boyfriend Gregg Peters.
When Peters went to confront Wirth, Wirth pulled a gun and shot him three times at close range. One bullet passed through Peters and struck Luick, killing them both. Luick was 37, Peters was 40.
Wirth, an unemployed 25-year-old welder, had recently moved to Wisconsin to be near the Los Diablos motorcycle gxxx.
He is claiming self defense, saying Peters lunged at him, causing him to pull the gun.
At the trial, witnesses to the fatal shooting recalled, with pain and tears, the night their friends were killed.
Angela Honkan was at the Rock Bottom bar in Jefferson with Luick and Peters. She described Luick as fun loving and testified Luick pinched Wirth on the bottom. Honkan says Wirth became angry and Luick told him to relax.
WITI-TV reports Alicia Koehler testified she saw Wirth with a gun to Peters' neck outside the tavern, went inside to have someone call 911, then saw Peters stumble back inside, asking her for help.
Another witness, Laurie Phillips, remembered Luick as 'she was dancing and having fun' and because 'she was laughing, she was tall, pretty and smiling.'
Phillips remembered Wirth because of his tattoos and because he was drinking the odd combination of vodka and Mountain Dew.
The trial will continue next week.
