A high-ranking Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member has been charged with firearms offences after a vehicle stop in Sydney’s south west early this morning.
About 1.25am police stopped a Ford Falcon in Canterbury Road, Wiley Park, after it allegedly avoided stopping at a stationary random breath test site in King Georges Road.
Police allegedly located an amount of cocaine in possession of the passenger, a 29-year-old woman.
As a result of a search of the vehicle, police allegedly located a loaded pistol under the passenger seat.
The woman and the driver – a 62-year-old man who is allegedly a high-ranking Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member – were arrested and taken to Campsie Police Station.
The man was charged with possessing a prohibited pistol and possessing ammunition without holding a licence.
He was refused bail and today appeared at Parramatta Local Court before again being refused bail to re-appear at Bankstown Local Court on 6 December 2010.
The woman was charged with possessing a prohibited drug. She was bailed to appear at Burwood Local Court on 21 December 2010.
