Australia, Bandidos gang member points loaded gun at police in Willmot

OFF THE WIRE
A man allegedly linked to the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang pointed a loaded gun at police last night in Willmot. A three hour siege in Mercator Crescent ensued with his ex-partner and two-year-old child in the house with him.

Mt Druitt Police Det Insp Grant Bissett said police were called by the ex-partner at 6.15pm in relation to a domestic dispute.

On arrival, police were confronted by the 31-year-old man with the firearm outside. It was at this point the firearm was pointed at police.

Police then established a perimeter and commenced negotiations with the male.

``Both the 24-year-old female and child left the premises without incident shortly after police arrived,’’ Det Insp Bissett said.

``When police arrived the firearm was pointed at police.

``We utilised the NSW Police negotiators and technical operations unit to work through the situation.’‘

The offender who had previously lived at the house surrendered peacefully at 9pm and was taken to Mt Druitt police station.

He was charged with breach of AVO, possessing a loaded firearm to endanger life, using a weapon to avoid detention and assault police.

He will appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today.
