Police have discovered a loaded pistol during a search of a car belonging to an alleged high-ranking member of a bikie gang in Sydney's southwest.
The 62-year-old alleged Bandidos member was charged with firearms offences following the discovery.
Police stopped a Ford Falcon in Canterbury Road, Wiley Park, at 1.25am (AEDT) on Sunday after it allegedly avoided stopping at a stationary random breath test site in King Georges Road.
The pistol was located under the passenger seat.
A 29-year old female passenger was allegedly found in possession of an amount of cocaine.
The duo were arrested and taken to Campsie police station.
The man was charged with possessing a prohibited pistol and possessing ammunition without holding a licence.
He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday before again being refused bail to reappear at Bankstown Local Court on December 6.
The woman was charged with possessing a prohibited drug. She was granted bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on December 21.
