OCOTILLO - Five people died Saturday, including four motorcyclists from a Lakeside motorcycle club in a hit-and-run crash.
Law enforcement officers are looking for the driver of a gold-colored Honda Accord who triggered a collision.
Aside from the deaths, six other people were injured Saturday in theroughly 1 p.m. collision on state Route 98 just north of the border in Ocotillo. The road was closed for the investigation until 5: 30 a.m Sunday.
The driver of the eastbound Honda tried to pass a dozen of motorcycles on the two-lane road and swerved into the westbound lane, forcing a westbound Dodge Avengers to swerve onto the shoulder of the road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
