Memorial Ride, Fundraiser Held For Crash Victims' Families

Motorcyclists, Friends, Family Remember Lance And Amy Heath, Tonya Trayer And Bill Miller
EL CAJON, Calif. -- Hundreds of motorcyclists rode down Main Street in El Cajon on Sunday to remember the four victims of Lakeside's Saddletramps Motorcycle Club, who were killed last Saturday on a two-lane stretch of desert highway east of San Diego.

The afternoon ride brought together motorcycle clubs from all over the county to remember fellow bikers Tonya Trayer, Bill Miller, and Lance and Amy Heath.

The ride ended at the Renegade Bar along Old Highway 80, where a memorial was held for 37-year-old Trayer. At the memorial, Trayer's three children and mother spoke fondly of their memories together.


"My mom taught us how to love by simply being who she is," said Amanda Gregerson, Trayer's 21-year-old daughter. "All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe it to my angel mother."

While Trayer's daughter spoke about her mother, she also asked the hundreds who filled the bar to pray for her father, Wilson Trayer III, who remains hospitalized with severe injuries from that crash.

The Heaths, who live in Alpine, leave behind two teenage sons. Money raised at Sunday's ride and event will also assist with their care as well as for gifts during the holidays.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the gold Honda who caused last weekend's deadly crash still has not been found. The CHP is hoping surveillance video from the U.S. Port of Entry at Calexico will help in find the driver.
