BRIDGEPORT — An alleged member of the Pagan motorcycle gang rumbled into town on Sunday evening and ended up in the hospital with a gunshot wound in his right leg, according to police.

Arrested in the incident was Jason Spitko of the 400 block of East Rambo Street, reportedly a former Pagan member.

“At 5:48 on Sunday evening we got a radio report of a shooting in the 400 block of East Rambo Street,” noted Bridgeport Police sergeant John Cane. “We received multiple calls about a gunshot and a man lying in the street.”

When he arrived at East Rambo Street, Cane said, the victim, a 55-year-old Collegeville resident, was conscious and able to identify his shooter.

“The victim was a member of the Pagan motorcycle gang who came in with another guy to ‘talk’ to Mr. Spitko,” Cane said.

“Mr. Spitko was an ex-member who was thrown out of the club a few months ago in some kind of dispute. We went into the house and arrested Mr. Spitko.”

Cane said the victim was taken by ambulance to Paoli Memorial Hospital.

“I don’t know the extent of his injuries. We sent a detective to the hospital Sunday night to talk to him and he was gone. Whether he was treated and released, I don’t know. We couldn’t get any information from the hospital. We haven’t gotten a chance to talk to the victim.”

Cane said that Spitko has no prior arrests and that an investigation into the shooting will continue.
