Police responded to a 4 a.m. call Sunday for a shooting near the ''O'mens Motorcycle Club in the area of East 91st Street and Holton Avenue.
When police arrived, they noticed cars in the area but did not find any witnesses or notice anything unusual. A short time later, they received calls that several people were brought into Charity and University hospitals for gunshot wounds, police spokeswoman Nancy Dominik said.
One victim was shot above the eye, three were shot in the arm and one in the back, Dominik said. Two of the men who were shot were treated and released. Police also received a report for a man who was beaten and taken to The Cleveland Clinic.
Police did not release names of the victims.
Dominik said police discovered through an investigation that two men had fought inside the club and the brawl spilled into the street. Then, someone pulled a gun and began shooting.
Police have not had any previous problems at the building or with the motorcycle club, Dominik said.
The motorcycle group has advertisements on Facebook and MySpace that it hosts after-hour parties on East 83rd Street every Saturday from 11 p.m. until the group shuts the party down.
