"Safety Checks",WE MUST STAY AWARE, VIGILANT AND KEEP FIGHTING AGAINST THIS TAKEOVER OF THE SPORT OF MOTORCYCLING.

Morning all...
With every turn and every day that passes NHTSA and other government powers that be attempt to curtail motorcycling, put more restrictions on it and us!!

We see government grants being given to states to perform "Safety Checks" for motorcycles. We see communities attempting to curtail motorcycle noise and implement unfair noise ordinances, we see more helmet legislation popping up. We see attempts to dictate to us what we can wear! We see more concerns from others about our safety, when they in fact know nothing about motorcycles!
There's no organized combined safety program to educate John and Jill Q Public about motorcycles; so most of the public still doesn't know that a motorcycle is in fact a motor vehicle and has the right to share the road!
WE MUST STAY AWARE, VIGILANT AND KEEP FIGHTING AGAINST THIS TAKEOVER OF THE SPORT OF MOTORCYCLING. If we relent, I fear that eventually motorcycles will be outlawed! Check abroad, there are already cities and towns that DO NOT ALLOW motorcycle travel at all!
Not only that, but the freedom to build our own motorcycles to our own taste will disappear as well, and we'll be forced to government rules and regulations as to what a motorcycle can look like and what accessories are allowed!
Remember, these organizations do not KNOW motorcycling.... they just want to be nanny safetycrats and save us from ourselves!
If we're not careful, all of the above will happen here. I beg of you, if you're not involved now; please get involved! Meet legislators, talk to them about your concerns, find out where they stand. They aren't for motorcyclists or motorcycle issues? Vote them out! Seek out others that understand and side with us!
If you do nothing.... SOMETHING will be done for you, and I'm sure the outcome will not be a good one!!

Take a stand, get involved, VOTE, make a difference before a difference is made for you!
Thanks~
