Extra police officers will be on the street Saturday in Fontana searching for motorcyclists and car drivers committing traffic violations that endanger motorcycle riders. Fontana police say they plan to patrol areas frequented by motorcyclists and sites where crashes occur.
The operation was prompted by a 175 percent rise in fatalities involving motorcycle riders between 1998 and 2008
