PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are searching for a suspect who fatally shot a 30-year-old man outside a private biker club early Saturday morning.
Witnesses said a few men were talking with a group of women outside a private club used by the Black Sabbath Motorcycle Club near 16th and Jefferson streets just before 5 a.m. when another man came up and confronted them.
Police said the group of men started to drive away, but the suspect pulled his car in front of their Chevrolet Malibu and started shooting.
According to Sgt. Steve Martos, the driver of the Chevy, Abdul Akbar, returned fire and was shot. His car crashed into a median barrier about 100 yards away.
Akbar died at a local hospital. Martos said the other two men in the car, Akbar's cousin and a friend, were not injured.
Police are hoping someone will come forward with information leading them to the suspect described as a black man, between 25 and 30 years old with a light complexion and cornrows. He was wearing a white shirt over a red shirt and driving a light-colored four-door Cadillac.
