Canada, Ontario biker gang rebuilding: Police

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Members of a motorcycle gang appear to be rebuilding their organization in eastern Ontario, according to police.

Police were monitoring a home in Peterborough, Ont., over the weekend that allegedly was being trafficked by Outlaw motorcycle gang members.

OPP Det. Sgt. Len Isnor said the Outlaws seem to be setting up in an area typically associated with the Hells Angels.

The Peterborough area in eastern Ontario has traditionally been associated with Satan’s Choice. But in the mid-1990s, the gang folded into the Hells Angels, which has been weakening in the region over recent years.

The Outlaws, on the other hand, are making a comeback, Isnor said.

About 45 Outlaw members received lengthy prison sentences following Project Retire in 2002 and are now getting out of jail, Isnor said.

"Now they're rebuilding again. Right, smack in the middle of Hells Angels territory," he said.

Three men, including known Outlaw biker associate Rory Vader, were at the house Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Isnor said police had information that area members of the Loner motorcycle gang were "patching over," becoming members of the Outlaws.

The Loners are an Ontario-based biker gang that formed in the 1970s.

Police officers weren't going into the house or conducting any raids.

Isnor said police couldn't confirm with absolute certainty that the building - two-storey house with all its windows were boarded up - is an Outlaw clubhouse.

Police were checking the identification of everyone travelling on and off the property, as well as taking their photograph.

"We want to know who they are, and who they're associating with in the community," Isnor said.
