SECAUCUS, N.J., Nov 09, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In order to enhance law enforcement safety and efficiency, the Tucson Police Department has equipped their motorcycle officers with fully-rugged Panasonic Toughbook U1 ultra-mobile PCs (UMPCs).
Prior to utilizing Toughbook U1 devices, motorcycle officers in the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Tucson Police Department could not access the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system and were, therefore, cut off from critical information when working in the field. Instead, officers had to rely on radio transmissions for running criminal background checks. To address these issues, the department selected the MIL-STD-810G certified and IP65-rated Toughbook U1 ultra-mobile PC, with a 5.6" sunlight-viewable touchscreen to help them more effectively issue e-tickets and perform other tasks in all types of weather conditions.
