AMESBURY: Joan T. Bailey, 75, of Amesbury and formerly of Salem, died Sat. Nov. 12, 2011 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Boston following a brief illness.
Joan was born in Salem Aug. 7, 1936 daughter of the late William F. and Grace E. (Murray) Bailey.
She graduated Salem High School class of 1954 and worked many years as a waitress. Joan was a manager and customer service representative for the Ann & Hope Dept. Store in Danvers where she worked for 40 years. She enjoyed playing the Lottery, reading and loved spending time with her family and cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula J. Wilson of Rochester, NH; her son Paul W. Cote of Amesbury, her brother George Bailey of MA & FL and her sister Patricia McLean of NH and FL. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Calling Hours will be Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 from 5:00 PM till 7:30 PM followed by a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM in the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent St. Rowley. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private.
