A Lenawee County judge this week placed the president of a Cement City motorcycle club on probation for two years and ordered him to abide by state liquor laws, The Daily Telegram in Adrian reported Tuesday.
William Edward Holifield, 63, was arrested months ago after Columbia Township police found the Iron Coffins club, 325 W. Main St., was selling alcohol without a license.
Holifield pleaded guilty in October to a “reduced disorderly charge,” The Daily Telegram reported.
The judge also fined Holifield $450 and ordered him to pay $1,502 in court costs, according to the Daily Telegram.
Despite a warning from police, the club had a July 15 event, for which it sold admission tickets to the public, provided food and sold alcohol, Columbia Township Cheif David Elwell said in September.
Early July 16, a man police said was drunk and had been at the party was driving a van that left the road and hit a parked vehicle, pushing it into another vehicle, Elwell earlier reported.
