The Iron Coffins motorcycle club chapter based in Cement City was ordered to abide by state liquor laws as part of the chapter president’s sentencing Monday in Lenawee County District Court. William Edward Holifield, 63, of Clinton, was placed on probation for two years in a case that began as a felony charge of selling alcohol without a license.
Holifield was arrested in September after an investigation of a July 16 incident involving alcohol sales at the Cement City clubhouse at 325 W. Main St. An intoxicated driver crashed near the clubhouse early that morning.
On Oct. 24, Holifield pleaded guilty to a reduced disorderly charge. In addition to the probation sentence, Holifield was fined $450 and ordered to pay $1,502 court costs.
