US - Federal charges against cycle gang to be announced

OFF THE WIRE
U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett will announce charges against members of a national motorcycle gang Saturday morning.
Eight people are being charged with methamphetamine trafficking, money laundering, and firearms crimes, according to a statement Hogsett's office issued today. Four of the defendants are members of the Sons of Silence Motorcycle Club. Sons of Silence is a national motorcycle gang that has an Indianapolis chapter, according to the statement.
The group has a website, but it says little about what the group does. However, it does list some of the group's incarcerated "brothers" and denounces "federal fabricated crimes."
Hogsett's office said in the statement that the charges are significant "because of the nature of the Sons of Silence, the relationship between methamphetamine trafficking and firearms, and the unusually high purity of the seized methamphetamine."
Hogsett is expected to make the announcement at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
