The third annual 100-mile motorcycle run to benefit the Allegan County Department of Veterans Services is Aug. 21.
Last year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6134 in Pullman raised $2,900 for the Allegan County Department of Veterans Services.
“Our Allegan County homeless veterans received $1,500 of the donations,” said Tammy Grigg, Allegan County Department of Veterans Services coordinator. “Further, $1,400 was earmarked for assisting children of veterans.”
Last year, about 85 motorcycle riders started at the Fennville VFW Post 7911, went to the South Haven VFW Post 667, the Decatur VFW Post 6248 and then through Bangor. It finished with a cook-out at the Pullman VFW.
