Punta Gorda Police, motorcycle club team up to raise money for charity

PUNTA GORDA - Join the Second Annual Defenders MC Charity Motorcycle Ride and BBQ to be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Punta Gorda.

Over 400 bikes are anticipated to participate in two rides – a 70 mile run and a 35 mile run –as well as several bike competitions scheduled for the event. All size bikes invited! And with music, vendors and a BBQ, it will be a great day!

Register at 10:00 am on the day of the event at Muscle Car City Museum located at 3811 Tamiami Trail. Registration for riders is $10 and $15 for rider with a passenger. $5 poker hands will be available until 2:30 pm with cash prizes awarded for high and losing hands. 50/50 raffle tickets will be available all day for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Vendors of all types - ranging from motorcycle gear to jewelry - will be at the event along with BBQ hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks.

Enjoy a fun day and "Take a Ride for Life!"

This event is a fundraiser for the Punta Gorda Police Department's Relay for Life team and all proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Defenders MC is a fraternal motorcycle club for active and retired law enforcement, emergency services, military and public safety professionals.
