American Legion Riders Break Ground On 'Fallen 4' Memorial

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- A new building will honor four Iowa motorcyclists who were killed in a crash in August.
The Western Iowa American Legion Riders broke ground Saturday for the Fallen Four Memorial Building near the Mid-America Motorplex.
The building is named for Jay Bock, Dennis Chaney, Dale Aspedon and Steven Benscoter, who died when a car hit them on Interstate 29.
Andrew Schlictemeier is charged with four counts of vehicular homicide in the crash.
Legion members said the new building will stand as a reminder of the crash's impact.
"A big part of what we want this building to reflect is not only to bring awareness to what happened to our brothers, but also the impact it has on families, communities and the nation as a whole," said Keith Callaway of the Western Iowa American Legion Riders.
The building should be complete by August 2011.
