here is a reason we separate the military and the police. One fights the enemy of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.
Once you start dressing police like an occupied army they start acting like one.
Every day there are stories about cops beating and killing innocent people,we have no illusions about what life would be like without the police,there would be chaos out on the streets every night.They do have a role to play,however they appear to have lost the plot and are overstepping the mark.
Its
not just the equipment the cops are using its their philosophy, they
used to send swat teams only to an active hostage or shooter scenarios,
that may have happened a couple times a year,now it happens almost
weekly,the police conduct a forced no knock entry tactic into private
properties for no compelling reason at all, like serving warrants,or
raiding a club house because someone was reported serving alcohol to a
member,or playing pool.
They don't need to smash their way into the building using battering rams and barging in with numbers of officers in riot gear yelling, screaming,and terrifying people.
The police want the public to be on their side,but their words, “To serve and protect,property and person" refers to us the general public, not to them, this is the massive expansion of government power.
Why aren't we all freaking out about this? We are always screaming and banging on about the loss of freedoms and that tyranny is coming,well its here with a battering ram a stun gun and a flash grenade.
To put it the way most of us can understand is, most of us are scared of the cops and yet we've done nothing wrong!
