NEW South Wales Police hope a new link on their website will help them respond faster to outlaw motorcycle gxxg violence.
The link – which can be found via the “Help Us Solve a Crime” section on the NSW Police website – will send information directly to State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad officers.
Detective Acting Superintendent Scott Whyte says they hope it will speed up police reaction times.
“(It) will allow police to respond more readily than ever before to reports of OMCG (Outlaw Motorcycle Gxxg) violence and organised crime,” he says in a statement.
“There is often a ‘code of silence’ associated with OMCG crime, as victims may fear reporting matters to police.
“We want to assure members of the public that no matter how they contact us, all reports are dealt with in strict confidence.”
