Two men with alleged links to the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gxxg have been arrested in Sydney's west after police uncovered a cache of high powered guns.
Detectives seized eight firearms, ammunition and drugs from two homes in the Lake Illawarra on Thursday night.
They were responding to a tip-off that guns had been stashed at homes in Nolan Street, Berkeley, and Paperbark Street, Albion Park Rail.
The homes were raided about 6.30pm (AEST) with police allegedly uncovering a semi-automatic rifle with two loaded magazines, a shortened semi-automatic shotgun, a shortened semi-automatic rifle which had been converted to being fully-automatic and about 1000 rounds of assorted ammunition at Berkeley.
A 36-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences, including possessing a prohibited firearm and ammunition without a permit.
He was refused bail to face Wollongong Local Court on Friday.
At the Albion Park Rail home officers allegedly discovered a single-barrel shotgun, two .22 calibre rifles, two air rifles, assorted ammunition and a quantity of steroids.
A 24-year-old has been charged with five counts of possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.
He was granted conditional bail to face Wollongong Local Court on August 7.
A third man was issued with a court attendance notice for possessing a prohibited drug.
