There is no doubt that bikers are a wonderful group of people who generally spend money attending events. Unfortunately, these bikers just don't seem to understand that residents in a community don't like their sometimes deafening noise.
Unlike "Wing Dings," which are biker events put on by extraordinarily quiet and helmeted Honda Gold Wing motorcycle enthusiasts, the Harley folks seem to enjoy making as much noise as they can to attract attention to themselves.
There are very clear federal and state motorcycle equipment laws regulating noise and mufflers. Unfortunately, local police and municipal officials are reluctant, or perhaps afraid, to enforce laws already on the books. It is only when local police and officials decide that respect for the community is more important than putting up with the noise of these self-propelled jackhammers, that bikers of all stripes will be welcome in the community.
