A Darwin policewoman had her nose bloodied and her shirt ripped off and another officer suffered minor injuries when they were set upon by a group of seven or eight people in the city's north-east.Northern Territory police said the officers were doing a patrol around the Malak Oval on Wednesday when the spotted a group of people drinking alcohol.
"Two police officers attempted to tip out the alcohol however they were set upon by a group of about seven or eight people," senior sergeant Greg Pusterla said.
The female officer was hit with a stick while her colleague suffered scratching and bruising.
They were taken to Darwin Hospital for treatment to their injuries.
Three of their alleged attackers were arrested, two men aged 18 and 23 and a 37-year-old woman, and were being questioned over the incident.
