THE State’s specialist bikie taskforce will be called in to help investigate the probable arson attack on a clubhouse of the Nomads gang at Islington this morning.
The Newcastle chapter headquarters of the Nomads bikie gang on Chin Chen Street was damaged after an apparent accelerant was used to spark a fire about 2.20am.
At least one building on the fortress-like property was severely damaged by fire.
No one was injured.
Newcastle City detectives have been joined by crime scene investigators at the scene this morning.
Strike Force Raptor, the specialist bikie taskforce, is expected to be part of the investigation.
It comes seven years after the kneecapping of one Newcastle chapter member and the bashing of another at the clubhouse.
