Mexico soldiers find fields outside San Quintin and Valle de la Trinidad..
The Mexican military on Sunday announced the seizure of two marijuana fields in Baja California whose combined extension totaled more than ten acres.
A statement from Baja California’s Second Military Zone said the first field covering nearly nine acres was discovered at Rancho Escondido, which is located east of the Transpeninsular Highway near the community of San Quintin.
The plants measured more than six feet, and were packed in at 12 plants per square yard, according to the statement.
The second discovery, measuring 1.7 acres, was located just north of the Valle de la Trinidad, southeast of Ensenada. The plants there were on average about five feet, nine inches tall, and packed in at about six per square yard.
The fields were the among largest found in the region this year, following the record discovery last July of nearly 300 acres marijuana outside San Quintin.
