Stand With Disabled Vets on 9/11's 10th Anniversary

OFF THE WIRE
Since the 9/11 terror attacks, so many troops have come home with life-altering injuries.
But you change the lives of disabled veterans through the DAV, the leader in helping heroes in need!
I’m extremely grateful to you as we mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 on Patriot Day this Sunday.
Your help is simply essential to vets like Christie Hill-Smith, who endured a living hell in Iraq after a guard tower she was in collapsed into a compound of 400 angry insurgents.
Though the fall broke Christie’s back, she managed to escape the prison.
But after she came home from war, Christie lived in isolation, feeling abandoned by a country that should have welcomed her as a hero.
Lost in the system, she nearly became destitute, waiting in a wheelchair as the government dallied over benefits she needed to move on with her life!
Together, you and the DAV rescue disabled vets like Christie, Philip. Our great organization, with help from supporters like you,  found Christie and lifted so many burdens from her shoulders.
Through the DAV, you were there, Philip, alongside all the disabled veterans who encouraged Christie to get out and start living again. And I’m so grateful for that.
But war grinds on! Every day, newly disabled veterans come home, needing the help you’ll provide as you mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with your Patriot Day gift of $25 … $50 … $100 or more!
Remembering America’s Heroes on 9/11!
