Guns, ammunition and suspected marijuana was confiscated by Fostoria police from a local motorcycle club.

Local law enforcement responded to the Iron Coffins Motorcycle Club Sunday afternoon on a report of gunshots fired.

According to Fostoria Police Chief John McGuire, officers responded to a report of possible shots fired at a Lynn Street residence at 11:26 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a resident who stated she heard what sounded like two gun shots outside of the residence.

McGuire said officers inspected the residence and found a hole on the exterior which was consistent with a gunshot from a small-caliber hand weapon.

During a continued investigation, officers searched the immediate area and located 12 to 13 subjects at the nearby Iron Coffins Motorcycle Club, 1002 Lynn St., where they found what appeared to be another gun shot.

"They found a hole in the door of that establishment that appeared similar and consistent with the hole found in the other residence," McGuire said.

McGuire said subjects at the Iron Coffins Motorcycle Club were uncooperative with police and locked themselves inside the structure.

Consequently, Fostoria police locked down the establishment with the assistance of the Seneca County Sheriff's Department while they obtained a search warrant, which took several hours, according to McGuire.

Upon executing the search warrant, police confiscated from the property four firearms, several different types of ammunition and a small amount of suspected marijuana.

Weapons included a .22-caliber pistol, a .9-millimeter Smith & Wesson, a .38 Special and a .22-caliber Phoenix. The firearms and other pieces of evidence were sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for testing.

Staney E. King Jr., 40, 609 Fifth Ave., was arrested at the location on an active warrant out of Seneca County for failure to appear in court. The remaining subjects were interviewed and tested for gunshot residue.

"Based on that information, our investigation is ongoing and we will follow up and hopefully get someone into custody here soon," McGuire said.
