Authorities are searching nationwide for a fugitive Cal State San Bernardino professor who they said operated a methamphetamine-sales ring out of his Highland home.
Steve Kinzey, 43, is an associate professor of kniesiology, the study of human movement, at Cal State.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason Rosenbaum, speaking at a news conference Thursday, said Kinzey has relatives in several states and is the local chapter president of the "Devils Diciples Motorcycle Club", which Rosenbaum described as an "outlaw gang" that has chapters all over the country.
"He has the means to hide for some time," Rosenbaum said.
Seven others have been arrested, including Holly Robinson, who authorities described as Kinzey's live-in girlfriend and partner in the operation.
The San Bernardino County Gang Impact Federal Task Force, which consists of the Sheriff's Department, San Bernardino Police Department and the FBI, investigated Kinzey for six months after a separate investigation into outlaw motorcycle clubs in San Bernardino County indicated that Kinzey was involved in criminal activity, Sheriff Rod Hoops said in a news release.
