Hello,
I am Kathryn I. McLaughlin, President of Rolling Thunder ® Inc. Central Florida Chapter 6 we are a group of concerned citizens that's major function is to publicize the POW-MIA issue. To educate the public of the fact that many American prisoners of war were left behind after all past wars. To help correct the past and to protect the future veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners Of War/Missing In Action. We are committed to helping American veterans from all wars. Rolling Thunder, Inc. is a non-profit organization and everyone donates his or her time because they believe in the POW/MIA issue.
While many members of Rolling Thunder ®  are veterans and many ride motorcycles, neither qualification is a prerequisite. Rolling Thunder ® members are old and young, men and women, veterans and non-veterans. All are united in the cause to bring full accountability for Prisoners Of War (POW) and Missing In Action (MIA) of all wars, reminding the government, the media and the public by our watchwords: “We Will Not Forget.”

This is where I need your help, Rolling Thunder® 25th Anniversary "Ride for Freedom" will be held May 27, 2012  with Chapter FL 6 having the honor of hosting the Flame of Freedom on it's journey from California to Washington DC.

This flame is a symbol. It lights the way home for your brothers and sisters in arms. It crosses this great country to tell everyone the Soldier stands with pride and honor to keep us free and we keep the light burning to show the way home. The light does not cast a shadow for its sole purpose is to send the message of hope, to let everyone know we will not forget.

I have asked several other Rolling Thunder ® Inc. Florida Chapters to participate in the hosting of this event. It will be historical for North Central Florida and I ask for your help as well to pull it off. I am hoping you can donate several items for raffle, or silent auction, perhaps even one of your celebrity friends could make an appearance at one of our fund raisers. I realize this is a big request however with over 2500 ex-POW's living in Florida we want to make this an event they will always remember. If we don't educate our communities now our current POW's from Iraq & Afghanistan will be added to the over 86,000 still missing in action. 100's of these Veterans are dying each day we as a nation need to show them "WE WILL NOT FORGET".
