San Diego’s Chopper the Biker Dog To Present Check To
Wounded Warriors Project - Nonprofit Group
Invites San Diego County Residents To Join Him
As He Pays Homage To Injured Military Personnel
San Diego’s little four-legged motorcycle riding Goodwill Ambassador, “Chopper The Biker Dog” and his owner, Mark Shaffer, support many worthwhile
charities in the San Diego area. This time, they are working in support of a very special group, the “Wounded Warrior Project.” In May of this year, they announced that, in recognition of Military Appreciation Month, they would donate a dollar to the non-profit group for each "Chopper The Biker
Dog 'Patch'" sold from May through the end of July. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) WWP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization headquartered
in Jacksonville, FL with additional program offices located around the country, including San Diego. **Chopper will deliver the donation check to the San Diego Office in Liberty Station on his 2nd birthday, August 3rd at 10 am. He will be arriving on Shaffer’s full-sized Harley Davidson motorcycle, then will
ride his own little Harley into the Wounded Warrior Project Office to deliver the check.** WWP was founded when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need. What started
as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to back to civilian life.
