ARIZONA - Three dead in shooting at Arizona motorcycle rally

OFF THE WIRE
(Reuters) - A shooting late Friday at a motorcycle rally in Northern Arizona left three dead and one critically wounded, police said on Saturday.
The killings at Mormon Lake, a few miles south of Flagstaff, happened as an annual rally called "Too Broke for Sturgis" was just getting underway, the Coconino County Sheriff's Office said.
A sergeant with the sheriff's office assigned to the event radioed in at about 11:20 p.m. Friday that he had heard shots fired.
Callers to 911 directed officers to a campground on Mormon Lake, where they found two men and one woman dead from gunshot wounds and a fourth woman, shot six times, clinging to life.
Both women were still seated in their camp chairs. One gun was recovered at the scene, close to the hand of one of the dead men, the sheriff's office said in a news release.
The investigation is still in its preliminary stages. But one possibility investigators are exploring is that the shooting was a murder-suicide.
None of the dead or injured were identified.
The annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally draws half a million enthusiasts to the small town of Sturgis in the Black Hills of South Dakota for 10 days each August.
In recent years, some veteran riders have complained the Sturgis rally has lost its outlaw edge, attracting too many bankers and lawyers with top-of-the-line $30,000 Harley-Davidsons and not enough old-fashioned hard-core bikers.
