Motorcycle safety patrol in Turlock
If you're riding a motorcycle in Turlock on Saturday, it'd be a good idea to obey all the laws.
Police will have extra patrols throughout the day, solely enforcing motorcycle safety and related laws in an effort paid for by a California Office of Traffic Safety grant.
Officers will be cracking down on traffic violations made by motorcyclists and drivers of other vehicles that can lead to motorcycle collisions, injuries and fatalities.
"Today's high fuel prices and congested roadways make motorcycles very attractive to many people," said Sgt.
Neil Cervenka, Turlock police traffic safety unit supervisor.
"Unfortunately, many of those people fail to get the proper training — or any training — before heading out on two wheels."
