Two bikie gang associates have been charged with assaulting police in a Sydney pub following a scuffle at a 21st birthday party.
Police allege that an aggressive 32-year-old man confronted them as they conducted a midnight check on a hotel at inner-city Balmain.
The man was a guest at a 21st birthday party in the hotel's function room, where many of the people had links with the Comancheros outlaw motorcycle club.
He was removed from the hotel, but when he continued swearing the police attempted to arrest him.
The man allegedly pushed a male constable in the chest, leading to a struggle.
Police were also forced to use capsicum spray on a 23-year-old party guest, after he shaped-up to punch one of the officers.
Both men, who have links with the Comancheros, were arrested and taken to Newtown police station.
The 32-year-old man was charged with assaulting police, resisting arrest, offensive conduct and failing to leave a licensed premises.
The younger man has been charged with assaulting police, hinder and affray.
Both have been granted conditional bail and will appear at Balmain Local Court on August 24.
