Argentine police have arrested a member of the Hell’s Angels motorcycle gang who was one of the 15 fugitives “most wanted” by US authorities, Interpol’s office here said yesterday.
Paul Eischeid, 39, who was living in Argentina under an alias, was arrested Thursday as he left the home of his girlfriend’s relatives in Buenos Aires, an Interpol source said
A former Charles Schwab stockbroker, Eischeid is “sought in connection with the brutal murder of a Phoenix (Arizona) area woman,” the US Marshals Service said in a statement.
Cynthia Garcia was allegedly attacked at the Hell’s Angels’ clubhouse in Mesa, Arizona in 2001.
She was “severely beaten, thrown in the trunk of a car, and taken to the desert where she was brutally stabbed and left for dead,” said David Gonzales, US Marshal for the Arizona district.
US authorities also want Eischeid on drug trafficking charges, and for violating US laws against organized crime.
He was captured with help from the US Diplomatic Security Service in Argentina, as well as Interpol and local Argentine authorities, the US statement said.
“Eischeid’s crimes were horrendous and his potential for continued violence made his arrest a priority for the US Marshals,” said US Marshals Service Director Stacia Hylton.
