A bar fight on Saturday night broke out on the second floor of Harvard Square’s Tommy Doyle’s, where a motorcycle group had rented out the space, police said.
On Feb. 20 at approximately 12:15 a.m., a police officer went to Tommy Doyle’s, located at 96 Winthrop St., to check on the detail officer since there was a large crowd present, according to police. A motorcycle club had rented out the second floor of the establishment, according to police.
A fight broke out on the second floor of the bar in the center of the dance floor, and one club member allegedly had a bar stool over his head ready to hit people, according to the report. The person was disarmed of the barstool as numerous police units responded throughout the city, said the report.
After police regained control of the bar, police and Tommy Doyle’s management decided that the party would be shut down and all partygoers on the second floor were asked to leave, said the report.
