Denmark - 20-year old man sentenced for trying to shoot bike gang member
Despite pleading innocent, the evidence against an unnamed 20-year old man, who fired two shots at notorious Hells Angels member Brian Sandberg on 29 January 2009, was considered overwhelming, and the seven jury members at Copenhagen City Court unanimously found him guilty.

In the attack Sandberg, who was having a meal in a trendy juice bar at the time, was injured by flying glass but not hit by either of the two shots fired at him.

The young man was sentenced to nine years in prison in accordance with the wishes of the counsel for the prosecution but will appeal against the sentence.

During the trial he argued that someone had planted the weapon used in the attack in his apartment and that he had never seen Sandberg. However, the presiding judge said the evidence showed the accused had himself hid the weapon used in the attack in his flat and that he had shot to kill.

A second man involved in the shooting is still at large, but police believe he has fled abroad

Meanwhile, Sandberg is currently in custody awaiting trial for two murder attempts on people connected to the Copenhagen criminal world.
