THOUSANDS of bike enthusiasts from the UK and abroad rocked up to Long Marston Airfield at the weekend where the hotly-anticipated 25th anniversary of the Bulldog Bash did not disappoint.

To the organisers’ relief the weather held for the silver jubilee event, where the highlights included veteran headline acts Status Quo and The Damned, a dazzling firework display and an appearance from the army’s charity freefall display team.(Story continues below image)

People were in high spirits throughout the annual four day festival, where spectators soaked up the atmosphere and many praised the band lineup, a vast improvement on last year when the lack of high quality bands was a major topic for discussion.

As visitors left the site on Sunday, event organiser Bilbo said he was very pleased with the event: “The weather was with us for the 25th and the headline acts certainly made the crowds happy. I thank all the people that have supported Bulldog 25, it’s been a great event, and we are looking forward to the 26th Bash next year.”

In answer to rumours that the event might not be held in Warwickshire next year he said the Bash, which has a licence to run at Long Marston until 2018, would continue to support the county.

The forum on the Bash’s website was full of messages thanking the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club for organising a “brilliant” event.
