AUSTRALIA - WA bikie lawyer's car firebombed

OFF THE WIRE
 news.smh.com.au
West Australian police are investigating the firebombing of a car at a property owned by a lawyer acting for bikie gang members.
Police and firefighters were called to the house in the southern Perth suburb of Port Kennedy about 12.20am (WST) on Tuesday, after one of the residents reported a car had been set ablaze with a molotov cocktail.
The car was destroyed but no one was injured.
The house is owned by lawyer Malcolm Ayoub, who has been representing several RockMachine bikie gang members in high-profile criminal cases in WA.
Police would not say if there was a link between Monday night's firebombing and recent cases Mr Ayoub had been working on.
On Friday, Rock Machine sergeant-at-arms Brent Reker, 26, and tattooist Kyle Adam Barry, 28, were found guilty in the Perth District Court of two counts of demanding property with oral threats, after trying to extort $2000 from two young men who had falsely boasted of having links with the gang.
Mr Ayoub had represented Reker.
The lawyer is also representing Stefan Pahia Schmidt, 25, who is accused of murdering New Zealand musician Andy Marshall, 29, in May after throwing him through the upstairs window of a Perth beachside pub.
The Rock Machine is also believed to be involved in a feud with the Rebels motorcycle gang after several public brawls between rival members in WA during the past year.
The Rebels is Australia's biggest bikie gang, with about 50 members in WA.
The Rock Machine has about 20 known members in WA.
