Nevada's Moped Bill was Heard in the Senate Transportation Committee - Could this be combined with SB177 to help get helmet choice?

OFF THE WIRE
Dear SB177 supporters,

Yesterday Nevada’s moped bill was heard in the Senate Transportation Committee.  I’ve been vocal about my disagreement with this Bill, but I’ve heard you and I backed off.  I watched the hearing from home to not be tempted to stick my nose into this Bill, so you can all thank Vic “Doc” Moss for that.

There is some optimism that SB177, if attached with this vile moped bill, could get passed.  But frankly, I think it’s a long shot.  What will more than likely happen is that the moped bill will be passed – since it’s all about restricting those operators.  And our helmet-choice bill will die.

I still have two “tricks” up my sleeve.  So if nothing happens very quickly, I will be seriously kicking up the heat next week.  I might even go to Carson City.

As of this moment, there are only 25 days left in this session.  So it’s getting to the point that we’ll have nothing to lose and everything to gain by getting in some “grills.”

I recorded the meeting that took place yesterday (5/12), edited it with commentary, and have posted it on you-tube (less than 10 minutes long).  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkUeVwtiLgU

I hope you find it informative and that it inspires you to contact Senator Horsford.  He is holding up our helmet choice bill – and I find that absolutely inexcusable.  I’ll be nice for a few days, but I reserve the RIGHT to get forceful if I don’t see anything happen in the next 3-4 days.
