OFF THE WIRE
Combat Veterans of America Motorcycle Club will host Rolling Thunder XXIV Sunday at 8 a.m. Motorcycles will depart from VFW Post 1503 in Dale City, cruise to Washington, D.C., and end at the Holocaust Museum. A check will be presented to a Hope For The Warriors representative before riders head out of Dale City. Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit organization that supports wounded U.S. service members, their families, and families of the fallen.
Motorcyclists will assemble in from Dale City from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.; coffee and donuts will be provided. After a ride brief, riders will mount up and roll out no later than 8 a.m.
Marines from the 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion will lead the highway procession with one of their tactical vehicles, the LAV-25. Riders can either park their motorcycles behind the Holocaust Museum to enjoy Memorial Day in the city or continue on to ride in the Rolling Thunder parade departing from the Pentagon at noon. A commemorative ceremony will be staged directly in front of the Lincoln Memorial following the parade. Everyone is welcome at this event – it is free to the public.
Combat Veterans of America Motorcycle Club has chosen Hope For The Warriors as the preferred charity partner for all beneficiary events this year. CVAMC is composed of veterans and their friends, creating a network of motorcyclists who support each other and fellow service members. Their mission is to raise awareness for veterans and members of the armed forces by participating in charitable, patriotic events. By doing so, they benefit veterans and families of the deceased who are in need.

Monies raised will assist the immediate and future needs of our combat wounded heroes supported by Hope For The Warriors. Their programs offer a full cycle of support starting with immediate needs and family support financial assistance, and continuing through A Warrior’s Wish, Warrior’s Hope & Morale, Above & Beyond Professional Development, Spouse/Caregiver scholarships, Team Hope For The Warriors and more.
The mission of Hope For The Warriors (www.hopeforthewarrior s.org) is to enhance quality of life for U.S. service members and their families nationwide who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in the line of duty. Hope For The Warriors actively seeks to ensure that the sacrifices of wounded and fallen warriors and their families are never forgotten nor their needs unmet.
