ILLINOIS: Legislative update:

Legislative update:

Thursday Rep. Dan Beiser filed an amendment to SB1291, which was our license plate bill, and turned it in to a "No Profiling" bill (No Motorcycle Only Checkpoints). We still have some life in this and we hope to get it through this year. It will go to State Government Committee on Wed. If you state rep is on this committee call them and ask them to pass this bill out of committee. PROFILING is wrong in any way it is looked at http://www.ilga.gov/house/committees/members.asp?CommitteeID=901&GA=97

Thursday Senator Gary Forby amended HB2860, "Dead Red Light bill, to exempt the city of Chicago from it. Call those Senators to vote yes. Tell them there are 11 states that have passed this bill since 2002 and none of them have rescinded that law. Motorcycle fatality numbers even went down across the nation last year http://www.ilga.gov/senate/
