SURFSIDE BEACH - Dozens of law enforcement officers from Horry County Police and
Surfside Beach Police departments, along with an out of county,
SWAT team are conducting an "operation" within the county..

Horry County Police with help from other agencies arrested several people Monday connected to the Myrtle Beach Hells Angels chapter.
The investigation began in December 2010 and was handed over to a Grand Jury.
The Grand Jury sealed and handed down 226 indictments Thursday.
In an effort called Operation Red Harvest, Police began making arrests at 7:15 Monday morning. They sought 34 people as part of the round-up.
At a news conference Monday, HCPD Chief Saundra Rhodes said that police arrested 15 people so far.
Rhodes said police served 11 search warrants as part of the operation.
Those arrested face marijuana trafficking, manufacturing, sale and possession related charges. Rhodes also said some face kidnapping, tattooing, assault by mob and assault and battery charges.
Rhodes said Ellis Schindler, President of the Myrtle Beach Hells Angels chapter, was arrested.
"We believe this will have a significant impact on the Hell's Angels," Rhodes said. "In my 18 years with the department I've never seen a grand jury investigation that netted 226 indictments."
"This is a pretty big deal."
